If I drink too much tea at my age my legs would be crossing every five minutes. After my hands get frozen they warm up afterwards and if I keep moving I stay warmish. I got cold when a guy I know wanted a chat and I stopped moving about.

Gearbox, starter motor, filter housing, battery tray etc all on now. Hands kept freezing up doing this, but it's done now just gotta find out where the small rubber plate fell out of, then put it back.

It's amazing, you clean everything before you put things back together...and you still get a bit greasy. Didn't clean it enough I suppose, oh well yet another clean when i've finished everything.
Block to paint next week, then replace the rusty rear waterpipe with my new one, replace the turbo oil feed pipe with my new one then the head etc can go back on. Then replace all oils etc.
Lastly to put mega clean expansion tank and washer container back on.

When i've finished I might just tax it for 1st Jan 2011 for the Lincolnshire MGCC new years day run as I want to 'show it off'.

Block now finally ready to paint.
Scraped off all old paint and cleaned block. Cleaned and re-tapped the headbolt holes and cleaned/smoothed off the top ready for the headgasket.
I have a new headbolt die and this brought the first one up a treat so will do them all tomorrow.
Have also put on my new turbo to oil pump oil feed but had to give up at 11.30am though as my fingers and feet had frozen to much as it was -7 at the time. My fingers still are giving me jip this afternoon as they feel frost bitten but hopefully it will be a bit warmer tomorrow to start painting the block and clean the remaining bolt threads.

Found out where the rubber plate goes and have put it back.
Threads on the headbolts all lovely and clear now after removing the grime and rust using my die.

First coat of paint on the block done but not too well from the looks of it, missed a few bits its but it is only the first coat. Second coat going on monday and the third on thursday and hopeful to start putting it back together at the end of next week

New oil feed that I picked up cheap earlier in the year is on

I have two Turbo gaskets to choose from when I put the head back on and these are like gold dust. I will be useing the genuine one that I picked up for £2.50 that was still in it's original packaging.

As it was only zero degrees I was working to finish the Turbo yesterday and nearly all back together now.

                            Clean washer bottle

                            Clean expansion tank

Fluids going in today, gearbox oil, engine oil, antifreeze, screen wash then clean up of the paint spills as it was mighty cold when I painted the engine. Then start it up, align the front lights, body clean and tax it for the 1st January

Yellow splash is std spring for 1.3 (heavy duty!), auto 1.6 and manual 2.0 according to my lists, that is 385mm (15.16ins) free length. Remember they did used to originally look as if on stilts.
