Couldn't find thread size for you but EPC says part numbers are 53K1834 for the short one and 1842 for the long ones and there is a place that shows that part number for the Maxi engine. Parts list for Maxi shows 32B21 for the long bolt and 32B22 for the short ones. There is a place in Denmark that is advertising NOS of these bolts - probably Damen and Kroes. They are good but expensive. HTH

what size spanner did you use to remove them? was it a tight fit or loose?

Loose 13mm or a tight 12mm, so hard inch was in-between.

well 5/16" unf has 24 threads per inch, 5/16" unc has 18 threads per inch. I think it will be one or the other.
is it just the bolt that you need or do you need an insert kit?

They are 5/16" unf, don't think there are any metric threads on the engine itself.
