          i have used turborebuild a few times and they are excellent.. always do what they say, unlike some out there, they have supplied me with the new t3 for the mad maestro, i just need to get around to fitting it.. regards ricky

            I used turbo technics a few years ago, more expensive but I was happy.
            1958 Ford Consul Convertible. I love this car
            1965 Ford Zodiac Executive. Fab cruiser being restored
            1997 Jaguar Xk8 Convertible. Such a fab car

              Hi chaps
              Don't know if you can advise but I have acquired a 2nd hand turbo that was possibly rebuilt and was wondering whether the shaft should be free of lateral play as there is some-or is that normal?

                The information I was given is that a very small amount of in-and-out movement of the shaft was OK but any sideways movement was a no-no and would need a rebuild.

                  Its the other way around. There should/will be some minor radial play in the shaft (as the film of oil that the shaft floats on won't be there without oil pressure present). In/out (Longitudinal) movement of the shaft is usually a bad sign.
