  • Right side gearbox seal, long drive

    Hello,
The long right transmission seal leaks oil. Do I have to buy a specific and original seal or is it an easy measure to find in a hardware store? Does anyone know the size of the seal?

    Thanks.

Gearbox seals for driveshaft on a montego 2.0 are the same as an mgf, there's a smaller and larger one.

The problem is that I am from Spain and many of the sellers do not ship. I would like to know if the seal can be found in a hardware store. I would also like to know if all the montegos 2.0 have the same measure and what is that measure of the seal

Rimmer brothers deliver worldwide, check part numbers first via email if needed. The seals have a metal insert so I doubt if you buy in a hardware store

As Jeff says, the seals are not standard, the seal numbers and dimensions are at the bottom of the list here https://maestro.org.uk/forums/forum/...arbox-bearings A bearing stockist might be able to find them, but I think unlikely. It is possible that https://www.ebay.es/str/recambiosbal...1437557&_pgn=2 might be able to get them, not all of their stock is listed on ebay, so may be worth asking?
