              • Maybe John. Some forward, some backwards. One of the carpet trims is from a Maestro, so too small. Never noticed or even thought about it. Have now found the original and cleaned that up ready to go on. Lastly, the glove box hinge painting was going great till I ran out of black spray so used an old one i had, that reacted to the previous paint. Start again with that

                • Carpet and trim in, Front passenger seat and seat belt stalk in, Aerial done, headliner finished as NOS A post finishers on. Rear door card started as drilled in the door ready to put on, unfortunately the central locking has stopped working so I have to sort that before attaching any door card. Last rear door seal found and on. I've been waiting many years to put that NOS Ashtray in

                  • Front wing tips found and the best ones cleaned up and ready to go on, this is the number plate I'm having made up, should be here next week with luck. Will have a rest from this now as my hands are not used to working on cars daily any longer. Simple things are OK but even using a screwdiver locks them up these days and I'm feeling it too much atm.

                    • Only a little done today. last carpet trim is now in, new probe on. Central locking still not working, the fuse had blown so I changed that and still nothing so I changed the control motor and still nothing, so will have to look more closely at that before I sort the door cards. I'm also locating various things from my spares and cleaning them ready to go on the car. Door mirrors, rear headliner strip, rear view mirror, blanking plate for the leccy window switch, cassette tape holder, foot pedal rubbers etc, also got the wing tips ready to attach. One seat belt also completed and on the car and its nice and red.

The montego looks brilliant, wish they kept the red seat belts and carpets to the end of production.

Ahh lovely sunlight throwing shapes with the doors open. Carpet does look ace but it's cost saving when all carpets ended up grey
