Internal workings of seat belts that I modified.
On the left is a front belt, on the right is a rear belt.
Remove the screw on both belts, pull off the workings and attach to the other unit keeping the spring where it belongs and tighten the screw. Re-attach the cover and it works perfectly.Last edited by Jeff Turbo; 21st May 2012, 17:50.

I owned one of those talking dash montego's years ago - nice to see one again. It was a light metallic green A reg (1984) MG 2L EFI. Nice car - had the digital speedo go up to 120mph once - on a private road of course lol. How many are left today i wonder? The trip computer can be way out and light bulb senors can fail easily if i remember correctly. Good project Jeff - looking forward to the finished article.
PS - does it still talk?

I now have 2 new rear offside seatbelts, can these be used as nearside?
Have tested and found they work perfectly, fit ok and look great.
The front and rear belts are nearly the same so I have modified them to fit the front.Last edited by Jeff Turbo; 15th May 2012, 15:07.

put a pair of right hand ones in the efi they fit perfect
Originally posted by Russ View PostHi jeff, coming on well, seat belts in rear are black as they are dealer rather than factory fitted. Seen this before on an mg1600. Mine had factory fitted and they were red
