I have to assume the only difference in the guide is the internal diameter to fit the thicker valve, I don't know if the outer size is different at the moment. I do have an old turbo cylinder head and will measure the difference for you.1958 Ford Consul Convertible. I love this car

It‘ s not necessary, Jeff, it was only if you knew it by memory. I will measure it myself and inform you about the results. I will buy 8 units of cam 5821 to try to machining it. Thank you very much for offering, Jeff.Last edited by Juanmacandel; 30th January 2024, 19:08.

Not a problem to do that for you but it's your choiceOriginally posted by Juanmacandel View PostIt‘ s not necessary, Jeff, it was only if you knew it by memory. I can confirm they are the same but with the inner part reamed out more for the larger valve, all the other guides are the same as a normal cylinder head so you only need to ream out the exhaust guides to accommodate the larger valveOriginally posted by Juanmacandel View PostIt‘ s not necessary, Jeff, it was only if you knew it by memory. That's good news! Thanks for sharing the information Jeff. I have 8 new valve guides but the inside diameter is narrower than the diameter of the inlet valves.
The inner diameter of CAM5821 is 7.30 mm.
The diameter of the inlet valve is 7.41 mm.
The diameter of the exhaust valve is 7.96 mm.
The shop manual says the intake valve guide tolerance is between 7.45mm and 7.46mm, but I don't know what the tolerance is for the exhaust valve guide.
Does anyone know what the tolerance is for the exhaust valve guides?
Should an 8mm reaming fit with the exhaust valve? The tolerance will be 0.04um

Hi everyone. These months have been a bit complicated and I have only been able to make progress on vacation.
The engine is fully rectified and assembled. (Attached is some photos)
The next steps are:
- Get a turbo ignition control unit
(If I'm not mistaken ADU8479)
-Take the turbo and exhaust manifold in for repair. The collector has a crack. The turbo has dented blades and no wastegate. Any advice with this?
-and the issue that worries the most. Get an engine wiring harness for the control units. Does anyone have wiring even if it is not in good condition?

Looking good that and coming on
This is complete so you may only need to sort the turbo unit on ebay The oil switch on your oil pump looks the wrong shade of green. Is it a turbo oil switch ? If not the car won't start when you put it in
Wiring loom is near the same as a 1.6/2.0 carb with added connections to the carb cooling fan, vent valve and radiator cooling fan relay that you can fabricate and add
Or you can get one made up, no idea on price though
Turbo fuel control ECU yes is ADU8479 and this one LRZ128 https://maestro.org.uk/forums/forum/...7-mg-turbo-ecu
These may also supply, if you scroll down the page https://carelectronicsuk.com/pages/stock-2
I do have a spare but it is in need of repair if you can't find one you maybe able to get it repaired/remappedLast edited by Jeff Turbo; 23rd October 2024, 14:07.1958 Ford Consul Convertible. I love this car

Hi Jeff, thanks for your answer. The oil pressure sensor was mounted in the old oil pump so I dont know if is the correct.
I have achieved the fuel ECU and sent the turbo to be repaired.
I'm still looking for a wire harness compatible with turbo ecus like 1.6 or 2.0 about 1987,
Meanwhile, I am replacing all carburatore seals and o rings.

Hi, For now I have not found any engine loom Do you have any available and for sale that may be valid?.
I have located a company that can weld the exhaust manifold. I will take it to repair on Monday
Yesterday I picked up the newly restored turbo, I attach some photos. I am quite happy since they have decarbonized and sandblasted everything in addition to the reconstruction itself. Also, they have gotten the westgate

No it won't work properly, it will start it but it won't run as it should. There are 2 ECU's, fuel and ignition, which one do you mean?Originally posted by Juanmacandel View PostI haven’t had any luck finding the connectors and wiring for the ECU. I have the ECU from a 1992 2.0 carb model.
Could this ECU work properly with the turbo engine?1958 Ford Consul Convertible. I love this car
